Scene of the Crime - Dortmund (Tatort Dortmund)

Movie Collection: Sunday | 8:15 pm | ARD

Since their first case in 2012, four investigators have been solving criminal cases in Dortmund, the big city in the Ruhr region. At the start, Chief Inspectors Peter Faber (Jörg Hartmann) and Martina Bönisch (Anna Schudt) had Chief Inspectors Nora Dalay (Aylin Tezel) and Daniel Kossik (Stefan Konarske) at their side, who were replaced by Chief Inspectors Jan Pawlak (Rick Okon) and Rosa Herzog (Stefanie Reinsperger). Faber, Bönisch, Pawlak and Herzog are the protagonists in a modern workplace drama. Each case is important, but how the four react to it, how they interact, how each of them puts their own stamp on the investigation is key. Another hallmark of “Scene of the Crime” is the horizontal narrative style where individual storylines extend across several episodes, with Dortmund being shown as a rough former mining town undergoing structural change. In the meantime, Peter Faber has gained a controversial cult status among viewers with his oddball and wacky way of investigating.
