Jan Kruse has been with the Bavaria Film Group for over 20 years, and as an Executive Producer he has been responsible for episodes of "Tatort" with the teams Stefan Jürgens & Dominic Raacke, Peter Sodann & Bernd Michael Lade and Simone Thomalla & Martin Wuttke. Working with Sonja Goslicki, he has also focused on crossover productions with Dietmar Bär & Klaus J. Behrendt. Alongside productions in Portugal, Israel and the Czech Republic, Jan Kruse has also made films for children and teenagers, played a crucial role in the development of the Grimme Prize-nominated collection "Krimi.de", made vital contributions to the series "Sechs auf einen Streich" and the fairytale "Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot", and produced a season of "Schloss Einstein".
Jan Kruse was born in Hamburg in 1969 and first studied Computer Science and Business Administration. After helping to organize various film festivals and working as line producer, assistant director and production manager, he switched to studying film at the University of Hamburg, today the Hamburg Media School. There he participated in courses on directing and script writing before changing to Production Management; he graduated with honours in 1998.
