Munich – Prime Video today unveiled the official trailer and key art for Drive – The Pretenders. The gripping film tells the story of a fateful encounter between an up-and-coming mechanic (Lisa-Marie Koroll) and a famous but scandal-plagued racing driver (Amin Baahmed). Enemies become lovers, and passion ignites both on and off the racetrack. Drive – The Pretenders is a production by Bavaria Fiction in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios Germany. Inspired by the Wattpad hit novel Drive by Tamara Lush, the film will be available exclusively on Prime Video worldwide from October 28.
Sascha Ommert, Head of Production Bavaria Fiction, says: “‘Drive – The Pretenders’ is a special project for Bavaria Fiction in many respects. As producer, Karsten Günther initiated our first collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and oversaw the film from the original idea through content development and execution to completion. For the first time, a Wattpad story has been adapted for the global market from Germany, and we secured Mercedes-AMG, ADAC and Pirelli as renowned partners for the production. In doing so, our teams at Bavaria Fiction have broken new ground and opened up perspectives for stories that excite a young, international audience. Our thanks go to Amazon MGM Studios for the collaborative partnership, to director Sergej Moya, and to all the teams and departments involved.”
