Prague - The production of the new Original movie Drive – The Pretenders (WT) took place in Prague and surrounding areas, at the racing circuits in Brno, Most and Hockenheim in Germany, in Frankfurt, and along the Amalfi Coast. Filming took place from September to early November this year. The movie depicts the fateful encounter between an aspiring mechanic and a famous but fallen race car driver. Enemies become lovers, and passion ignites both on and off the racetrack. Drive – The Pretenders (WT), expected to release in 2026, was inspired by the successful Wattpad novel "Drive" by Tamara Lush.
The leading roles are played by Lisa-Marie Koroll as young race car mechanic Sarah Jenkins and Amin Baahmed as racing star Dante Annunziata. Additional cast members include Gustav Schmidt, Mišel Matičević, Lucie Heinze, Frederic Linkemann, Inka Friedrich, Jeanette Hain, Philippe Brenninkmeyer, Steven Gätjen, and Pati Valpati, and Leslie Malton.
A young race car mechanic pretends to be engaged to the most scandalous racing star in the scene – officially for his reputation, but secretly for her own chance behind the wheel. However, soon the lie threatens to destroy everything, including what has long since become more than just a game.
"Drive - The Pretenders" (WT) is a production of Bavaria Fiction in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios Germany for Prime Video. The movie is produced by Karsten Guenther, Sergej Moya directs. The screenplay is written by Chris Silber and Malina Nwabuonwor, with cinematography by Armin Franzen.
